Jungkook (전정국), also known mononymously as Jungkook, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, record producer, and dancer. He is the main vocalist, center, lead dancer, and sub rapper of the South Korean boy band BTS.
Jungkook was born on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea. He attended Baekyang Elementary and Middle School in Busan. When he became a trainee, he transferred to Singu Middle School in Seoul. Jungkook initially had dreams of becoming a badminton player when he was younger, but after seeing G-Dragon perform “Heartbreaker” on television, it influenced him to want to become a singer.
Jungkook joined Big Hit Entertainment in 2011 after passing the company’s auditions. He was the youngest trainee to join the company at the time. Jungkook trained for three years before making his debut as a member of BTS in 2013.
